Moline Chiropractor | Dr. Harlene Mangan

I just wish I would have known then what I know now. Life would be so much easier if we knew the future.

Moline Chiropractor | Dr. Harlene Mangan

I was hit by a car as a child and discovered what a miracle chiropractic really is. I was a kid, so I didn’t know much about chiropractic before this. My mom took me to see a chiropractor after getting hit by the car and I discovered the miracle.

As most kids, I got sick a lot. I knew that there had to be something that could help without having to take all the medications. By the accident I discovered a new way of health care. I could get adjusted to keep my body and immune systems working properly. This was the day I decided I had to become a chiropractor and help others discover the miracle.

I enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. I had no idea how I was gonna pay for it, but I knew I had to help others. I knew it was gonna be hard, but I couldn’t have never imagined how hard it really was. The Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree is every bit as demanding as a Medical Doctor’s degree with DCs ending up with more classroom hours of study.

I am working with the patient to figure out why they are having problems and how to get there body back to it’s proper function so it can heal itself. It’s the greatest accomplishment when patients come back in and are so grateful and happy for giving them there life back.

That is the whole reason I’m a chiropractor. I want to help people get there body’s back to the way they were meant to work. It breaks my heart to see so many people in this world that are living in pain that can be fixed. When your nervous system is free of pressure it is a miracle how our body’s can heal all by themselves. I’ve seen all of types of miracles in my 24 years of practice. I look forward to seeing many more. I accept all patients from the newborn to the senior citizen. Chiropractic can not do everything but it can do much more than its given credit for.

My Healthy Chiropractic Family

I have a wonderful daughter that I spend most of my free time with. Now that she is getting older we do a lot of races together and we bike ride together. I am an avid bike rider. I get adjusted a couple times a week. Adjustment and exercise is a fountain of youth and I also need to stay on top of my own spine. You’ll also find me in the gym a few times a week and when time permits a good round of golf is a great way to relax.

I am excited to learn new things and spend quite a bit of time in seminars. I believe that despite the enormity of knowledge that has been obtained about the human body we’re just scratching the surface on how it all works.

Dr. Mangan Asks some important questions of interest to Moline residents - Chiropractor Moline Dr. Mangan Asks...

Why does chiropractic work?
Chiropractic works because your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body, controls and regulates every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. A chiropractor locates and reduces areas of nervous system compromise (usually along the spine) so your capacity to heal is restored. Chiropractic works by helping your body work as it was designed.
Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Moline chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
